Where is Monte Cardón Located?

How is the road to get there?

The road from downtown to our entrance gate is fully paved. Beyond the gate, a private dirt road leads to the summit of the hill. This impeccably maintained road accommodates all types of vehicles and is adorned with abundant illuminated signage. The drive is delightful, winding through a riverbed surrounded by majestic cardón cacti, some of which are over 400 years old. Along the way, you'll encounter iconic Baja flora and wildlife, including roadrunners, jack rabbits, foxes, deer, and occasionally, a snake crossing the road. Please drive carefully to respect the sanctuary of these creatures.

Is the road safe?

Certainly, Los Cabos stands out as the safest destination in Mexico. The roads leading to our property are consistently well-maintained. Additionally, as you may be aware, Baja Sur is a free-range state for cattle, so you may come across livestock and occasionally encounter some wandering wild burritos enjoying the scenic landscape. We advise driving slowly and attentively on state roads – after all, there's no rush here in Baja. Our lifestyle is characterized by a leisurely and peaceful pace, so take your time and savor the journey wherever you go!

What type of food do you offer?

Whether you're joining us for one of our culinary experiences or a private event, our culinary identity is defined as Baja-Mediterranean cuisine, aligning with the philosophy of the "slow-food" movement. Embracing the ethos of using local and seasonal produce, all our primary ingredients are meticulously sourced from nearby farms, ranches and the bountiful Sea of Cortez, not traveling more than 12 miles to reach our estate. The use of premium olive oil, fresh herbs, and garlic forms the cornerstone of our culinary narrative, while rustic techniques such as firewood ovens and grills impart a soulful and vibrant essence to our cuisine.

How many days are you open?

All our experiences require advance reservations. Cooking classes can be booked any day of the week with a 48-hour notice. Chef's table experiences are available only on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, requiring a minimum 48-hour notice and subject to availability. We have a limited capacity of 12 seats per day, and the menu is designed based on the availability of seasonal ingredients and the dietary restrictions of our diners.
